Emmy award winner Joan Collaso, is an international vocalist born, raised and living in
Chicago. Joan’s ability to sing smooth, sensual melodies and improvisations that can explode into the excitement of her big and soulful sound will capture your ear. Her spirit will capture your heart.  She fuses Jazz, R&B, Blues and Gospel in a way that sets her apart, and has been greatly enjoyed by music lovers all over the world: Most notably, 4 times at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands (to standing room only crowds), Estonia (Russia), Osaka, Japan, Italy, and the World Port Jazz Festival in Rotterdam where she opened for world renowned Jazz/Gospel artists Take 6. In 1997, Joan appeared in the history-making movie Soul Food, and has been featured on countless jingles and commercials. In 2009 Joan appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show 3 times as background vocalist for Susan Boyle, Alicia Keyes, Jennifer Hudson and Tim McGraw. In Chicago Joan is a loved and respected artist; working in theater (as a playwright and actor), performing for school aged children, and performing concerts and events for various charitable and community organizations. In August 2010, Joan sold out DuSable Museum’s (Chicago) Theater for her production of “A Tribute to Nancy Wilson & Shirley Horn (Also honoring “The Lady and Her Music” Lena Horne), and received rave reviews!!!
